Does it really work?
Yes. This is a program based on sound, tested nutrition science. And it's is a program that you can follow because it's not based on starving yourself or swearing off entire food groups. This
program is based on my years of clinical experience and research as a
Registered Dietitian and sports nutritionist. In my private practice,
I have helped hundreds of people. If they can do it, so can you!
How are you different from Weight Watchers?
Weight Watchers is more expensive than Nutrition for You and does not provide expert nutrition advice or counseling by phone. The Weight Watchers plan encourages you to eat foods that subscribe to their Points system, including a lot of pre-packaged foods sold by--who else?--Weight Watchers. The Nutrition for You plan doesn't use points or make you reliant on a certain packaging system. We teach you how to read labels and understand portion sizes so you can be free to choose fresh ingredients and good food.
I'm a vegetarian. Will this program work for me?
Yes. We provide programs that account for the diets of lacto-ovo vegetarians as well as vegans.
In a nutshell, how does this plan work?
When you
join Nutrition for You, we customize a flexible program for you based
on your age, activity level, resting metabolic rate, dietary
restrictions, and goals. Your program will give you Daily Allowances of
the major food groups, balanced so that you eat nourishing foods and
feel full when you eat. You can eat whatever you like from those food
group Allowances you are prescribed, as long as you are careful to stay
within the prescribed portion sizes.
You will quickly come to
understand what foods, and in what amounts, you can eat and still lose
weight or maintain your current weight. As you progress, you will learn
how to understand the consequences of your food choices and add more
flexibility to your program, internalizing what you've been taught and
taking it with you once your goals have been reached.
Why do you cost more than Internet dieting sites?
There are several websites that allow you to track food intake and count your calories for weight loss. While reducing calorie intake is necessary, calories only tell part of the story. The key to lasting weight loss is to reduce calories in a controlled manner while maintaining the right balance of macronutrients in a way that does not cause increased hunger. This level of precision is achieved through a Registered Dietitian. Our plan offers the expertise of a Registered Dietitian along with the counseling of trained coaches who will provide support and information over the phone.
